Apart from festivals and common celebratory dates such as birthdays and anniversaries, there are other occasions when you can go out and purchase some other gifts only to make your near and dear ones feel special. There are also other occasions such as mother’s day, father’s day, friendship day, Valentines Day, when you have an excuse to get something without them asking you what happened.

Sometimes it just feels nice to pick up gifts for loved ones back home, sending them with a little note telling them how much you care. You could purchase other gifts such as miniature crystal-ware, a photo frame, a t-shirt with your own words printed on it, a letter-writing pad with a pen, etc.

In fact an unexpected and unique time to send gifts could be at the turn of a season. For instance, the monsoon season may just be around the corner and you know that your parents back home would not bother to go out and purchase a new umbrella or raincoat, continuing the same old one. Then you could surprise them by sending them some exclusively designed rain gear.

Or then it could be your sibling’s exam and you know that examination time means high stress and anxiety and the only thing that could relieve them is your presence. But then you just cannot be there so getting them some other gifts to fill up the gaps would definitely help them get through their moments of anxiety. In fact you could get them a pen set or a coffee mug or just a little plank with words of encouragement that they could keep with them.

Sending a gift to someone special does not require a special festival or occasion. It just requires you to feel the need to reach out and say that you care for them and are there for them whenever they do need you.
